Namul is Namul is Namul
Presented at the University of Brighton’s
Material Histories: Objects and Objectives Conference
My Visual Communication Masters’ thesis was focused on namul (seasonal foraged greens) as a container for storytelling about the Korean diasporic experience. This research took the form of conversations, workshops, cooking and food styling, and graphic design, as well as woodworking children’s toys of common Korean condiments.
The recipes developed for the hosted dinners was made into a risoprinted zine and hardbound with cloth covers.
