Copy: Zaineb Lassoud A publication cataloguing the Royal College of Art’s 2023-2024 class for the Postgraduate Diploma in Design and Art.

The book represents a big cohort of individuals that are constantly moving, buzzing, and colliding. All of these interactions produce energy and create bonds that are reflected in our work and have impacted our lives. Thus, particles were used as imagery throughout.




In order to promote a true sense of collaboration and participation, the team asked members of the cohort to add their personal flair: 

A wall of text containing key words related to their projects and practice, which was then printed into the inner cover of the publication. This represents the collision of ideas that occured throughout the term. 

Each student picked 3 keywords to represent their practice, which were included on their individual spread, but also collated into an index in the back to demonstrate overlaps in the ideas that may otherwise have gone unnoticed. 

The placement of the 3 “particles” on the pages were also done by each individual via hole punches collected, scanned, then outlined. 





Holes were punched into the opaque cover to represent a journey of uncovering ideas and knowledge throughout the semester.



A dotted centerpage ensured that nobody was at the literal “center” of the cohort, but provided a space for writing well wishes to one another at the publication launch party.
