The Archive™, to Have and to Hold

2025
Exhibited at the TATE Britain.
An interactive installation to help museum visitors engage with archival materials in a meaningful way.

In an effort to increase visitation to its Archival Collections, the TATE Britain invited a group of MA students from the Royal College of Art into its hallowed halls, to be inspired by the artefacts within.

Our task was to choose a single substrate to reimagine in a public facing way.

My response was to the historic <Release of Pigeons on the Occasion of Picasso’s Ninetieth Birthday>, in which ninety pigeons were released from the hands of schoolchildren into the sky from the front steps of the TATE Britain’s main entrance.

In lieu of birds, I recreated ninety of my favorite pages from the collection to release into the world in the form of acrylic keychains. People love merch (I love merch).
